The Gendered Century?

The 32nd Annual Conference of the Society will be held at the University Women's Club in Mayfair, London, England from 10 to 12 September 2009.

The programme of papers will examine all variations on the possibilities suggested by that title within the literature, social and court history, arts and visual culture, music, intellectual history, theatre, philosophy, religion, and material culture of the French seventeenth century widely interpreted.

Proposals (of about 250-300 words) for papers of 20-minutes duration are now invited. The closing date will be MONDAY, 2 MARCH 2009, and proposers may expect to be informed of the outcome of their submissions around Easter.

Proposals should be sent to the Secretary of the Society, Professor Richard Maber (r.g.maber@durham.ac.uk). We welcome enquiries about submitting a proposal. They may be sent either to the Secretary or to Professor William Brooks (mlswsb@bath.ac.uk).
